Best Places to Eat During 2010 Olympics
If you’re coming to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics, you’ll be pleased with the many dining choices. As a city neighbouring the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver is known for its seafood and ethnic cuisine – amongst the most popular are Asian and Indian. Here is a list of restaurants that are spacious and will give you a taste of the city.
1. Dim Sum at Sun Sui Wah – It’s a busy place, but you can make a reservation.
2. Dinner at the Cannery – This iconic waterfront seafood restaurant is losing its lease so it’ll be your last chance to take in the view. It’s off the beaten path but well worth it.
3. Family friendly Griffins – If you’ve got kids, but still want to have a great meal, Griffins' varied menu has something for everyone.
4. All India Sweets – Vegetarian buffet - Meat dishes also available.
5. Market at Shangri-La – This won’t be a secret for long. Wonderful high-end westcoast meal without breaking the bank.
6. Campagnolo – Authentic Italian cuisine and there’s a charcuterie upstairs.
7. Beefy Beef Noodle – Great for lunch, these Tawainese savoury beef noodle soups are becoming very popular in Vancouver.
8. Pajo’s Fish & Chips – Just off the docks in quaint Steveston. Large portions, great fish and great prices
9. Sushi at Tsunami – Puts in you the heart of the shopping district in Vancouver. Tsunami has fresh sushi and a variety of other Japanese dishes. Around the corner is Shabusen for all you can eat sushi.
10. Kam’s Place – Friendly service and consistently delicious Singaporean food plus all your favourite Thai dishes. Try their curries and Tom Yum soup.
